🐾 Valentine’s Day with the Pack

Valentine’s Day around here isn’t about roses and fancy dinners—it’s about bacon-scented squeaky toys, catnip chaos, and showing my furry companions just how much I love them (with snacks and love, obviously). Precious, Nina, and Mama might not write love notes, but they absolutely know how to celebrate in their own tail-wagging, purring ways.

Here’s how we do Valentine’s Day in this house:

• Heart-shaped treats for the dogs: I make homemade goodies. Precious likes hers crisp, Nina prefers soft, and everyone’s happy.

• Mama gets her own snack spread: Nothing says ā€œI love youā€ to a tabby like freeze-dried chicken and a squeeze of her favorite creamy treat. She acts unimpressed. She’s actually thrilled.

• Themed toys = instant joy: This year, the dogs got plush toys shaped like a heart emoji and a box of chocolates (don’t worry, it’s squeaky). Precious hasn’t stopped carrying hers around like a prize. Nina cuddles hers like it’s her emotional support bear. Mama got a catnip filled kicker toy she can wrestle and show who the boss really is.

• Snuggle session required: No candles, no frills—just us on the couch, wrapped in blankets, snacks within reach, and some low-key background TV. Bonus points if I manage to sneak in a movie while they all doze off.Ā

Around here, Valentine’s Day isn’t about doing something extravagant. It’s about celebrating the everyday love that comes from cold noses, warm bellies, and the joy of being surrounded by my pack.
